Louisville-based Papa John’s International Inc. has been named one of the world’s top 10 franchises by Entrepreneur magazine.
The magazine’s Franchise 500 rankings are based on a company’s financial strength and stability, growth rate, system size and start-up costs. Among Papa John’s franchise incentives is its domestic Enterprise Zone Program, which allows franchisees who qualify to pay no up-front franchise fees (normally $25,000) for development of restaurants in certain markets such as Boston, Chicago, Pittsburgh, upstate New York, California, Connecticut, Michigan and New Jersey.
In addition, franchisees who agree to build five or more units in these areas pay a reduced royalty.
“Our Enterprise Zone Program, which is one of the most aggressive development incentives in the industry, has proven to be popular with franchisees and continues to fuel our growth despite the challenging economic environment,” said Thomas Flaherty, Papa John’s vice president of new business development.
