Katie Tranter is a DBL Law partner, practicing in the areas of Employment Law and Civil Litigation. Katie guides clients through issues that arise in the workplace.
She has significant experience providing employment counseling to private employers across a range of industries regarding all aspects of the employment relationship, including equal employment opportunity practices and policies, employee discipline and termination, employee investigations and complaints, wage and hour issues, best employment practices, reductions in force and WARN Act issues, workplace violence, employment contracts, and non-compete and trade secret issues.
Katie has handled matters involving the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, U.S. Department of Labor, Kentucky Labor Cabinet, and Ohio Civil Rights Commission, and other administrative agencies. She litigates cases in state and federal courts and is licensed to practice law in Ohio and Kentucky. Katie also has conducted employment investigations, successfully handled settlement negotiations and mediation, and drafted and implemented employment policies of all types. Katie has been featured on WVXU’s Cincinnati Edition as a subject matter expert on legal issues related to the Kentucky Pregnant Workers Act. Katie frequently presents on employment-related topics.
She is a member of the Cincinnati Zoo Ambassador Council. She previously served as a Trustee for Children’s Home of Northern Kentucky and as a member of the Governance and Development Committee of Girls on the Run of Greater Cincinnati. She has been recognized in the 2021 Edition of Best Lawyers in America as One to Watch and was listed in 2020 as an Ohio Rising Star by Super Lawyers. Katie is a 2017 alumna of the YWCA Greater Cincinnati Rising Star Leadership program.
Katie holds a Juris Doctorate from the University of Cincinnati College of Law and graduated cum laude. She holds a Bachelor in Business Management degree from the Boston College Carroll School of Management and graduated cum laude.
