Gov. Beshear makes appointments to Kentucky boards and commissions

Appointed Barry Martin as a member of the Advisory Council for Medical Assistance.

  • Barry Martin of Hazard is the CEO of Primary Care Centers of Eastern Kentucky. Mr. Martin shall serve for a term expiring June 29, 2025.

Appointed Donovan Blackburn as a member of the Kentucky Board of Emergency Medical Services.

  • Donovan Blackburn of Pikeville is the President and CEO of Pikeville Medical Center. He replaces William Haugh, whose term has expired. Mr. Blackburn shall serve for a term expiring Sept. 19, 2024.

Reappointed Ray Cottrell, Stephen Gates, Doug Dotson and Chuck Coldiron as members of the Motor Vehicle Commission.

  • Ray Cottrell of Ekron is the owner of Ray’s Ford-Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep-Ram. Mr. Cottrell shall serve for a term expiring July 1, 2024.
  • Stephen Gates of Lexington is the owner of McKamey-Gates, Inc. Mr. Gates shall serve for a term expiring July 1, 2024.
  • Doug Dotson of Benton is a car dealer at Champion Auto Mart. Mr. Dotson shall serve for a term expiring July 1, 2024.
  • Chuck Coldiron of Somerset is the owner of Hyundai of Somerset. Mr. Coldiron shall serve for a term expiring July 1, 2024.

Appointed Brian Lavin as a member of the Louisville/Jefferson County Air Board.

  • Brian Lavin of Prospect is a real estate developer for NTS Development Company. He replaces Patrick McDonald, whose term has expired. Mr. Lavin shall serve for a term expiring July 15, 2025. This order shall be effective July 16, 2021.

Appointed Alexander Ansley as a member of the Commission on the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. Gov. Beshear has also reappointed Geraldine Gordon-Brown.

  • Alexander Ansley of Lexington is a student at Western Kentucky University. Mr. Ansley shall serve for a term expiring July 1, 2024.
  • Geraldine Gordon-Brown of Louisville is retired. Ms. Gordon-Brown shall serve for a term expiring July 1, 2024.

Appointed Fred Nesler and Jason Pittman as members of the Kentucky State Parks Centennial Commission.

  • Fred Nesler of Mayfield is retired. Mr. Nesler shall serve for a term expiring Jan. 1, 2025. Mr. Nesler shall also serve as Chair of the Commission.
  • Jason Pittman of Murray is a banker with Community Financial Services Bank. Mr. Pittman shall serve for a term expiring Jan. 1, 2025.

Appointed Timothy Martinez as a member of the Veterans’ Program Trust Fund Board of Directors.

  • Timothy Martinez of Lawrenceburg is a vocational rehabilitation counselor for the Department of Veterans Affairs. He replaces Carla Raisler, whose term has expired. Mr. Martinez shall serve for a term expiring July 15, 2023.

Reappointed Jeni Bolander, Melissa Ferrell, Kimberly Chevalier, Cassie Jo Robinson and Christa Bell as members of the State Advisory Panel for Exceptional Children.

  • Jeni Bolander of Lexington is a special education teacher at Henry Clay High School. Ms. Bolander shall serve for a term expiring June 30, 2024.
  • Melissa Ferrell of Frankfort is the Homeless Educator State Coordinator for the Kentucky Department of Education. Ms. Ferrell shall serve for a term expiring June 30, 2024.
  • Kimberly Chevalier of Union is the Assistant Superintendent at Walton-Verona Independent Schools. Ms. Chevalier shall serve for a term expiring June 30, 2024.
  • Cassie Jo Robinson of Springfield is a teacher with the Washington County School System. Ms. Robinson shall serve for a term expiring June 30, 2024.
  • Christa Bell of Georgetown is a social worker for the Cabinet for Health and Family Services. Ms. Bell shall serve for a term expiring June 30, 2024.

Appointed Danny Hutcherson, Jodie Haydon and Scott Lusk as members of the Elizabethtown Community and Technical College Nominating Commission.

  • Danny Hutcherson of Elizabethtown is the PVA for Hardin County. He replaces Johnny Embry, whose term has expired. Mr. Hutcherson shall serve for a term expiring April 15, 2024.
  • Jodie Haydon of Bardstown is a contractor at Nally & Haydon. He replaces Kenneth Morris, whose term has expired. Mr. Haydon shall serve for a term expiring April 15, 2025.
  • Scott Lusk of Guston is the Vice President of Service at The Lusk Group. He replaces Thomas Summers, whose term has expired. Mr. Lusk shall serve for a term expiring April 15, 2025.
