Leggett & Platt is laying off 86 workers at its plant in Simponsville, where the company produces mechanisms for reclining and swivel chairs. The job cuts are being attributed to a decreased demand for the company’s products. The cuts, which will take effect around mid-December, leave the company with approximately 160 workers.
