Gray Construction has been awarded the contract to build a 1.2-million-s.f. facility for BMW. The new $750 million assembly plant will be located in Spartanburg, S.C., adjacent to the company’s existing facility. When complete, the building will serve as the primary facility for production of the next-generation BMW X3 sports activity vehicle. Lexington-based Gray ranks as one of the country’s leading automotive facility contractors and has completed more than 300 automotive facilities for companies including Toyota, Hyundai, Nissan, Johnson Controls and Dana Corp.

Affiliated Computer Services (ACS), a Texas-based company that provides outsourcing and IT solutions, is adding a total of 200 full-time jobs to its Kentucky workforce. The company is hiring 100 employees for its Lexington location, which provides technical support and customer service for ACS clients. With the increase, ACS will employ 2,075 people in Lexington, making it the city’s sixth-largest private employer. The company is also hiring approximately 100 people in Louisville to handle paperwork for the trucking industry.
