William Brown

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Kentucky Venues announced William Brown as the organization’s Executive Director of Human Resources starting November 8.

Brown brings years of experience to the role. In his most recent position, he worked as the Director of Human Resources for the City of Cincinnati, starting numerous new programs including centralizing the city’s HR department as well as managing the human resources’ response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“What stands out the most about William is his compassion and empathy for the people he serves. With 17 years of experience in the public sector, he understands the needs of government agencies and the obstacles we face. His proven track record of recruiting and hiring talent will help Kentucky Venues continue to serve our clients and host the best events in the Commonwealth. We look forward to having him join our team,” said David S. Beck, President, and CEO of Kentucky Venues.

Before moving to Cincinnati, Brown worked in Louisville Metro Government Parks and Recreation as the Chief People Officer, the Kentucky Court of Justice/Administrative Offices of the Courts as a Senior Human Resources Manager, and as an HR Manager for the Kentucky Alcoholic Beverage Control.

Since graduating from Kentucky State University, Brown has managed Human Resources for numerous city and state agencies and has a deep understanding of working within government organizations. Brown is no stranger to Kentucky Venues, spending his childhood attending the Fair and in adulthood participating as a vendor. As someone who always wanted to work for an entertainment venue, his experience in the public sector makes Kentucky Venues an ideal fit.

“I’ve personally experienced and enjoyed what Kentucky Venues has provided for the City of Louisville and those around the region. I strongly believe that the events and entertainment industry is vital for economic growth in our state,” said William Brown, Executive Director Human Resources.

With two different facilities and six produced events, the Kentucky Exposition Center and Kentucky International Convention Center, Kentucky Venues hosts more than 280 events in a typical year. Those shows generate $360 million in estimated economic impact for the state which positively impacts local businesses, hotels, and restaurants.
