LEXINGTON, Ky. — Saint Joseph Hospital has again been named one of America’s 250 Best Hospitals, placing it in the top 5% of hospitals in the country and designating it an overall leader in clinical excellence, according to Healthgrades.

This is the fourth consecutive year Saint Joseph Hospital has received this award. The facility is one of only three in the state on the 2022 list.

Nearly 4,500 hospitals were assessed nationwide for clinical performance as measured by Healthgrades, which connects consumers, physicians and health systems.

Healthgrades delivers scientifically accurate and comprehensive information about doctors and hospitals by reviewing outcomes across 31 of the most common procedures and conditions. Recipients of this award have consistently delivered better than expected outcomes for their patients.

From 2018-2020, patients treated in hospitals achieving this Healthgrades recognition on average had a 27.8% lower risk of dying than if they were treated in hospitals that did not receive this award, as measured across 17 rated conditions and procedures where mortality is the outcome.
