Kentucky USA Energy Inc., a London-based natural gas exploration and production company, has entered into drilling commitments with two drilling companies for its five proposed initial development wells in the New Albany Shale in the western Kentucky region. Two rigs have been committed to Kentucky USA to drill the initial five wells and will continue to work with the company through its development drilling of the entire 2,200-acre leasehold.
Construction is under way on a new allied health building on Somerset Community College’s Laurel County campus. The 53,000-s.f. facility will allow for the expansion of programs such as practical nursing, respiratory therapy and medical assisting while also allowing for the addition of new associate degree programs in nursing and pharmacy technology. The building is expected to be open for the spring 2010 semester.
