Ty’s Toy Box Announces Merger, Expansion of Operations

By wmadministrator

Ty’s Toy Box, an online toy retailer headquartered in Erlanger, has merged with Denver-based All Aboard Toys and is in the process of expanding its space in Florence to accommodate the increase in business.

Both Ty’s Toy Box and All Board Toys specialize in licensed character merchandise such as Thomas the Tank Engine™, Disney Cars™, Backyardigans™, Sesame Street™ and The Wiggles™.

“Unifying the licensing relationships and online retail breadth of both AllAboardToys.com and TysToyBox.com creates one of the top five online destinations for character-based toys and merchandise,” said Ty Simpson, chief executive officer of Ty’s Toy Box.  “With approximately $26 billion spent annually on character licensed product and the Internet being the fastest growing source of this revenue, combining our efforts will be advantageous to our licensing industry partners and provide our customers with an unprecedented assortment of character-related products, including exclusives they can’t find anywhere else.”

Under the terms of the merger agreement, Simpson will serve as CEO of a newly formed holding company that combines the businesses of both entities, while All Aboard Toys CEO Dave Carlson will be chairman of the board. The two companies will continue to operate independently.

The expansion of Ty’s Toy Box in Northern Kentucky will nearly double the company’s existing space, giving it a total of 64,000 s.f., and will result in the hiring of 21 full-time employees.
