KCTCS names new vice president of Workforce and Economic Development

VERSAILLES, Ky. — After a nationwide search, Jessie Schook has been named vice president of Workforce and Economic Development for the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS). In her new role, she will work with companies in Kentucky and existing businesses to ensure KCTCS is at the forefront of workforce training and development for new and incumbent workers.

Before this position, Schook served as KCTCS associate vice president of Workforce and Economic Development and executive director of Workforce Solutions, which delivers programs and services for businesses, such as customized training and apprenticeship programs, as well as programs for individuals who want to upgrade their skills.

Before joining KCTCS in 2020, Schook was director of education and workforce connectivity at Greater Louisville, Inc. Her background also includes a stint at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kentuckiana and various teaching and curriculum development positions.

She earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Kentucky and a master’s degree from New York University. She also has completed coursework toward a doctorate at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
