Paul R. Wilson Oil Company Inc. of London, has been acquired by Ohio-based Lykins Companies for an undisclosed amount.
“This will be a seamless transition, with our staff and location remaining the same,” said Mike Hamm, who will remain as head of Wilson Oil and serve as Lykins operations manager for central Kentucky. “Customers won’t notice any change in that regard. However, we will be able to offer them a wider range of products and services than ever before, which is very exciting.”
Lykins Companies President Jeff Lykins said the acquisition will provide customers with expanded fuel options, including alternative fuels. In addition, said Lykins, residential customers will be able to get their home heating oil and other petroleum products from Lykins.
Paul R. Wilson Oil is the second company Lykins has purchased in London: The company purchased Curry Oil Company in 2006. Over the last year, Lykins has also purchased three other Kentucky-based companies: Hamilton Oil Company (Georgetown), J & L Equipment and Oil Company (Mount Vernon) and DeBoard Oil Company (Mount Vernon).
Lykins serves customers throughout the Midwest and the southeastern United States, providing branded fuels, wholesale fuels, commercial, transportation and home heating oil.
