Kentucky Performing Arts announces board appointment

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Kentucky Performing Arts has announced an addition to its Board of Directors. Dr. Maryanne Elliott, MBA, brings a new perspective and a wealth of leadership and organizational development experience. Governor Andy Beshear appointed her. Dr. Elliott was appointed to replace Bruce Clayton Merrick. Her term will expire on April 29, 2027.

Dr. Elliott is a leadership coach and founder of The Acorn Group. With more than 20 years of experience in professional development, she is solely focused on developing and shaping leadership in others. She now helps organizations build leadership in their people through individual coaching, leadership development programs and facilitated workshops and retreats.

She also teaches in the Master of Science in Human Resources and Organizational Development program at the University of Louisville. She attended the George Washington University Graduate School of Education and Human Development, where she earned her Doctor of Education degree. She received her master’s in business administration at the University of Louisville.

Current board members reappointed to the board for another term are:

  • Paula Harshaw, Louisville
  • Lindy B. Street, Louisville
  • Joseph David Leavell, Louisville

Their terms will expire on April 29, 2027.
