Gov. Beshear makes appointment to Boards and Commissions

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Dec. 14, 2012) – Governor Steve Beshear has made the following appointment to Kentucky boards and commissions:

Gov. Beshear has appointed Charles Jacob Reid to the Kentucky Housing Corp. Board of Directors to serve for a term expiring Oct. 30, 2015.

Charles Jacob Reid, of Owensboro, is a banker at Independence Bank. He represents interests of financial lending institutions. The appointment replaces David A. Wombwell, whose term has expired.

Gov. Beshear has reappointed the following members to the board:

F. Lynn Luallen, of Frankfort, is a housing executive at The Housing Partnership. He represents interests of the home construction industry. Luallen shall serve for a term expiring Oct. 30, 2015.

William E. Summers V, of Louisville, is a banker at Central Bank. He represents professional experience in auditing, financial accounting, municipal bond financing, or investment banking. Summers shall serve as chair of the board for a term expiring Oct. 30, 2016.

Stacey C. Epperson, of Morehead, is president and CEO at Frontier Housing. She represents interests of nonprofit housing organizations. Epperson shall serve for a term expiring Oct. 30, 2016.

Gail J. Melvin, of Flatwoods, is a retired economic development director. She represents interests of local government. Melvin shall serve for a term expiring Oct. 30, 2016.

Porter G. Peeples, of Lexington, is president and CEO of the Urban League of Lexington-Fayette County. He represents interests of the homeless population. Peeples shall serve for a term expiring Oct. 30, 2016.

Gov. Beshear has appointed the following members to the Kentucky Board of Housing, Buildings and Construction to serve for terms expiring July 31, 2016:

Mark A. Caldwell, of Paducah, is a structural engineer at APEX Engineering. He represents the Kentucky Society of Professional Engineers. The appointment replaces Ethan Buell, whose term has expired.

Jim A. Jackson, of Frankfort, is an instructor at the University of Kentucky. He represents citizens at large. The appointment replaces Carolyn Franklin, whose term has expired.

Gov. Beshear has reappointed the following members to the board to serve for terms expiring July 31, 2016:

Steve Willinghurst, of Louisville, is an electrician and training director at Louisville Electrical JATC. He represents the National Electrical Contractors Association.

Debra L. Fitzgerald, of Dry Ridge, is a self-employed real-estate agent and broker. She represents the Kentucky Association of Realtors.

Dennis T. Meiman Jr., of Fisherville, is the owner and operations manager at Schardein Mechanical. He represents the Mechanical Contractors Association.

G. Davis Boland, of Louisville, is a sales manager at Boland Maloney Lumber Company. He represents the Kentucky Building Materials Association.

Gov. Beshear has reappointed Oda O. Inglis to the Kentucky Oil and Gas Conservation Commission to serve for a term expiring Jan. 21, 2017.

Oda O. Inglis, of Earlington, is retired. He represents residents of Western Kentucky.

Gov. Beshear has appointed Katherine C. Eversole to the Kentucky Office for the Blind State Rehabilitation Council to serve for the remainder of the unexpired term ending June 30, 2015.

Katherine C. Eversole, of London, is an educational consultant for the Kentucky Education Development Corp.. She represents state educational agencies. The appointment replaces Soraya Matthews, who has resigned.

Gov. Beshear has appointed Phyllis A. Amyx to the Kentucky Recreational Trails Authority to serve for a term expiring Aug. 22, 2016.

Phyllis A. Amyx, of Campton, is retired from the Wolfe County Conservation District. She represents Kentucky Farm Bureau in the eastern part of the state. The appointment replaces Charles O. Little, whose term has expired.

Gov. Beshear has reappointed the following members to the authority to serve for terms expiring Aug. 22, 2016:

Kim L. Nelson, of Madisonville, is a self-employed financial and management consultant. He represents the coal industry in the western part of the state.

Virginia L. Grulke, of Lexington, is executive director of the Kentucky Horse Council. She represents the Kentucky Horse Council.

Sandy Runyon, of Pikeville, is executive director at Big Sandy Area Development District. She represents the Kentucky Council of Area Development Districts. Runyon shall serve as chair of the authority.
