Governor makes appointments to boards and commissions

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Jan. 295, 2013)Gov. Steve Beshear has made the following appointments to Kentucky boards and commissions:

Gov. Beshear has reappointed the following members to the Hopkinsville Community and Technical College Board of Directors to serve for terms expiring Sept. 2, 2018:

Bettie Sue Wallace, of Princeton, is a retired chief deputy property valuation administrator.

John B. Rittenhouse III, of Hardin, is park manager at Kenlake State Resort Park.

Gary W. Logan, of Hopkinsville, is chief financial officer at Max Arnold and Sons.

Gov. Beshear has appointed the following members to the Owensboro Community and Technical College Nominating Commission to serve for terms expiring April 15, 2016:

Steven Neel Ford, of Owensboro, is an insurance agent at E.M. Ford & Company. The appointment replaces Ann C. Nance, whose term has expired.

Joseph T. Elliott, of Philpot, is a farmer. The appointment replaces Wayne Foster, whose term has expired.

Gov. Beshear has designated Dwayne D. Moorman as chair of the commission. Moorman, of Owensboro, is an attorney at Moore Malone & Safreed.

Gov. Beshear has reappointed Sandra L. Miller to the Kentucky Board of Licensure of Marriage and Family Therapists to serve for a term expiring July 15, 2016.

Miller, of Louisville, is a self-employed marriage and family therapist.

Gov. Beshear has appointed Kathy J. Susman to the Kentucky Board of Examiners of Psychology to serve for a term expiring July 15, 2016.

Susman, of Lexington, is a part-time campus counselor at Transylvania University. She represents certified psychologists. The appointment replaces Danette C. Morton-Page, whose term has expired.

Gov. Beshear has reappointed Eva R. Markham to the board to serve for a term expiring July 15, 2016. Markham, of Louisville, is a psychologist and associate professor at University of Louisville Pediatrics. She represents licensed psychologists.

Gov. Beshear has appointed Kimberly Richardson to the Agriculture Water Quality Authority to serve for the remainder of the unexpired term ending Oct. 1, 2013.

Richardson, of Frankfort, is assistant director at Kentucky Division of Conservation. She represents the Division of Conservation. The appointment replaces Stephen A. Coleman, who has resigned.

Gov. Beshear has appointed Sen. Brandon Smith to the Southern States Energy Board to serve for a term expiring Feb. 8, 2015.

Smith, of Hazard, represents the state Senate. The appointment replaces Tom Jensen, whose term has expired.

Gov. Beshear has reappointed Rep. Rocky Adkins to the board to serve for a term expiring Feb. 8, 2015. Adkins, of Sandy Hook, represents the Kentucky House of Representatives.

Gov. Beshear has appointed Lona M. Brewer to the Kentucky Environmental Education Council to serve for the remainder of the unexpired term ending Oct. 5, 2014.

Brewer, of Bagdad, is project manager of energy efficiency and conservation for the Kentucky Department for Energy Development and Independence. She represents environmental interests. The appointment replaces Evelyn Morgan, who has resigned.

Gov. Beshear has reappointed John Hicks to the Capital Planning Advisory Board to serve for a term expiring March 30, 2017. This order is effective April 1, 2013.

Hicks, of Frankfort, is deputy director of the Office of the State Budget Director.

Gov. Beshear has appointed Clifford “Rip” Rippetoe to the Louisville/Jefferson County Tourist and Convention Commission to serve for a term expiring Aug. 13, 2016.

Rippetoe, of Louisville, is executive director of the Kentucky State Fair Board. He represents the State Fair Board. The appointment replaces Harold Workman, whose term has expired.

Gov. Beshear has appointed Frank Howard McCartney to the Office of District Judge for the 19th Judicial District of Kentucky to serve according to the provisions of Section 152 of the Constitution of Kentucky. This order is effective Feb. 1, 2013.

McCartney, of Flemingsburg, is assistant Fleming County attorney and a partner in the law firm of Suit, McCartney, Price, Price & Ruark.

Gov. Beshear has appointed Charles J. Taylor to the Agriculture Water Quality Authority to serve for a term expiring Oct. 1, 2016.

Taylor, of Louisville, is water resources section head at the Kentucky Geological Survey, and represents the Kentucky Geological Survey. The appointment replaces James S. Dinger, whose term has expired.
