The latest statistics from the Northern Kentucky Tri-County Economic Development Corp. show that despite a sluggish economy, the Boone, Kenton and Campbell county region saw an increase in primary jobs and capital investments in 2010.

Tri-ED assisted with 22 projects for new and expanding companies in 2010 that are projected to create 3,513 primary and indirect jobs over the next three years.
Steve Pendery, chairman of the Tri-ED board, said the number of new and expanding companies in the region in 2010 more than doubled from the previous year.

An economic impact analysis prepared by Northern Kentucky University indicates that in addition to the job creation numbers, the new/expanding businesses are projected to invest more than $200 million land, buildings and equipment in 2011.
