GLI seeks nominations for Emerging Minority Business Award

Award to be presented at Louisville Defender’s Business and Professional Achievement Recognition Luncheon

LOUISVILLE , Ky. (Aug. 13, 2013) — Greater Louisville Inc. – the Metro Chamber of Commerce is now accepting nominations for its annual award recognizing emerging minority businesses. As part of the Louisville Defender Newspaper’s 2013 Business and Professional Achievement Recognition Luncheon, GLI will present an outstanding local company with the Greater Louisville Inc. Emerging Minority Business Award.

gliSuccessful nominees will be emerging minority businesses (one to three years in business) whose focus on innovation, community engagement and growth make them an asset to our city and a role model for businesses nationwide.

The community is invited to nominate companies for the award by visiting www.GreaterLouisville.com/Award. The deadline for nominations is Friday, Aug. 23. Nominated businesses will receive a formal application packet.

The Greater Louisville Inc. Emerging Minority and Business Award winner will be announced at the Business and Professional Achievement Recognition Luncheon in October.  The winner will receive a one-year GLI membership and personalized business development consultation services.

In 2012, the Emerging Minority Business Award was given to PayrollNetwork. President and CEO Kena Samuels-Stith accepted the award at the annual luncheon.
