29th Annual Tri-State Model Railroad Show at Greenbo Lake in March

GREENUP, Ky. (Feb. 23, 2012) – Railroad enthusiasts of both model and passenger trains can enjoy two days full of interesting activities at the 29th Annual Tri-State Model Train Railroad Show, March 17-18 at Greenbo Lake State Resort Park.

The show will feature operating model trains in all gauges, toy and collectible trains, railroad memorabilia, books, videos, china, silver, and lanterns. There will even be rides on an operating 7- ½ gauge steam engine. Some 75 vendor tables will display items for sale.

Admission to the Model Railroad Show is free. Show hours are from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, March 17 and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, March 18.

The show is sponsored by the Collis P. Huntington Railroad Historical Society Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society. For more information, call the park at 1-800-325-0083.

Greenbo Lake State Resort Park is on KY 1, 18 miles north of Interstate 64 from the Grayson exit, or 8 miles south of U.S. 23, the Country Music Highway, on KY 1. Greenbo Lake features the Jesse Stuart Lodge with 36 rooms, convention center and Anglers’ Cove Restaurant. The park has a 225-acre lake for boating and fishing, tennis courts, and 25 miles of multi-use trails for hiking, biking and horseback riding. The campground is open April 1 through Oct. 31. Greenbo’s amphitheater features musical concerts and plays during the summer and fall.
