Hillard Lyons investment banking adds senior banker to its capital markets group

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Feb. 24, 2012) – J.J.B. Hilliard, W.L. Lyons, LLC announced the addition of a senior investment banker.  James Lykins, with 17 years’ industry experience, will lead expansion efforts in Hilliard Lyons Investment Banking’s Equity Capital Markets division, the only capital markets division in Kentucky.

For the past 12 years Mr. Lykins has held the post of Hilliard Lyons Equity Research Analyst covering Gas Utilities, Water Utilities, and Midstream Energy.  In that capacity, he received numerous accolades for his research and analysis from The Wall Street JournalForbes.com and Starmine (Financial Times).  He has been quoted extensively in the press and was also an occasional guest for various media venues, including CNBC.

In his new role, Mr. Lykins will continue to use his extensive expertise and industry knowledge.  This will include advising clients on a range of corporate finance needs, including public equity and debt offerings, private placements, and mergers and acquisitions.

Prior to joining Hilliard Lyons, Mr. Lykins was a bond trader at J.C. Bradford and previously worked for National City Bank.  He began his career in financial services at Dean Witter Reynolds.
