Community Ventures Corporation earns Kentucky Small Business Administration awards

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Feb. 28, 2012) —  The Kentucky Small Business Administration awarded two Gold Level Awards and two individual awards to Community Ventures Corporation Tuesday.  The awards highlight the lending production by CVC during the past federal fiscal year.

Presenting the awards were Phillip Danhauer, Regional Chief, Finance Division of the U.S. SBA, KY District Office.

‘It is truly an honor to be here today to recognize Community Ventures Corporation for what they are doing to stimulate the local economies throughout Kentucky.  For the tenth year in a row, CVC has done something no other organization has done – provide more microloans than anyone else in the Commonwealth.  Not only that, they continue to provide these loans to more people than any other organization in the nation,’ stated Chief Danhauer.

Community Ventures Corporation’s President and CEO, Kevin R. Smith, accepted the awards on behalf of the agency.  ‘We here at CVC know that we have to work hard to get resources to people with good ideas.  The staff here knows how to do that and works tirelessly to ensure that quality businesses are started, nurtured and supported.  The amount of jobs created during 2011 (get number) show that our state and local economies are coming back and we want to be part of that growth,’ stated Mr. Smith.

Community Ventures Corporation received the Gold Medal Award for SBA Microbusiness Lending and for SBA 504 Loans.  Also awarded were two All-Star recognitions including Robert Heil, Business Development Director for the CVC Louisville office and Bennett, Senior 504 Loan Specialist from the CVC Frankfort office.  Each of them received a commemorative Louisville Slugger bat inscribed with their name.
