Commerce Lexington offering second travel opportunity to Cuba in August 2012

FIRST DEPARTURE DATE SOLD OUT; SECOND TRIP DATE ANNOUNCED
Informational Meeting on March 21
LEXINGTON, Ky. (March 6, 2012) — Recently, Commerce Lexington Inc. announced a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to travel to Cuba. The response to this trip has been overwhelming, and our departure date of August 23 has sold out. Due to the popularity of this opportunity, Commerce Lexington Inc. and Chamber Explorations have announced a second departure date of August 16 to accommodate the growing numbers that still want to DISCOVER CUBA.
This 9-day, 8-night adventure departs Miami on August 16, 2012. Old Havana, Sugar Mill Valley, Partagas Cigar Factory, Finca La Vigia (Hemingway’s home), Bay of Pigs Museum, Cuban Literacy Museum, and Cuban School/Day Care are just a sample of the trip itinerary. Although it is illegal for U.S. citizens to travel to Cuba, Chamber Explorations, a leading travel provider for chambers of commerce and affinity groups across North America, is now able to provide legal people‐to‐people travel to Cuba, sanctioned by the U.S. Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) to send Americans to Cuba.
This all‐inclusive program boasts round trip airfare from Los Angeles or Miami, 8 nights of first‐class hotel accommodations, 19 meals (7 breakfasts, 7 lunches, and 5 dinners), daily touring (UNESCO sites), people‐to‐people visits and cultural connections, a Cuban travel visa, Cuban health insurance, a professional Cuban bilingual guide, transportation by deluxe air‐conditioned motor coach, and more.
“Because Cuba is a place that American citizens can’t just travel to on their own, the response to this opportunity has been phenomenal,” said Lynda Bebrowsky, Commerce Lexington’s senior vice president of marketing and member services. “We are very lucky to be able to obtain and offer the second departure date.”
The cost to participate in the DISCOVER CUBA trip is $3,499 per person (double) or $600 additional for a single supplement. Those interested will have to act fast, as the seating for the second departure date is just as limited and will go fast.

For those who have already signed up or people who would like to learn more, an Informational Meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 21, beginning at 5:30 p.m. at Commerce Lexington Inc.
