Gateway hosts Manufacturing Consortium Meeting March 15

 

FLORENCE, Ky. (March 6, 2012) — Gateway Community and Technical College will host the Spring 2012 Manufacturing Consortium Meeting from 8 to 9:30 a.m. at the college’s Boone Campus, 500 Technology Way, Florence.

 

 

 

Co-sponsored by the Kentucky Science and Technology Corporation (KSTC), Gateway and the Innovation and Commercialization Center Network, the meeting will feature  Rick Johnson, KSTC executive director, who will discuss “Design as a Competitive Edge.”

 

 

 

“Profitable innovation and manufacturing often use design to create distinctive products that provide a great customer experience and brand loyalty,” said Anthony Clarke, Gateway’s dean of Workforce Solutions. “This workshop will cover the important role of design-centered innovation.”

 

 

 

The workshop begins with registration and a continental breakfast at 7:30 a.m. Clarke said panelists will talk about the industry and share their take on how to use design as a competitive edge. The event will take place in Room 104 of the Center for Advanced Manufacturing at the Boone Campus.
