St. Elizabeth Healthcare introduces new RunTracker for mobile app

User friendly features provide access to convenient workout information and interaction
NORTHERN KENTUCKY (March 13, 2012) — St. Elizabeth Healthcare has added a new “RunTracker” feature to its mobile app. This new component uses GPS technology to track your fitness activities. Currently, the app is designed to work with running or walking. However, new activities will be added soon.The new RunTracker feature is being combined with the already popular “BMI Calculator” and “My Food Diary” to create an expanded health and fitness portion of the app.
Following is a list of features offered with the app:
• Track details of individual runs or walks such as start time, end time, total run time, total distance, physical route on Google Maps, pace and elevation.
• Allow user to pause or stop while running route.
• Provide an “End Run” option to allow user to stop tracking when completed. Once stopped, the app will automatically summarize the run or workout.
• Optional audio announcements every five minutes with distance, calories burned, average pace, average speed, current pace and current speed.
• Provide a report listing all previous runs and run detail such as date/time, direction, distance, pace, elevation, calories burned and Google map of route.
• Allow user to manually enter workouts (or specific details such as weather) that were not previously tracked using RunTracker.
In 2011, St. Elizabeth became the first hospital in Greater Cincinnati to offer a mobile app to provide another way of bringing healthcare answers right to consumers’ fingertips. The app has been specifically designed to be user friendly, interactive, educational, and informative.
The free RunTracker feature is ready just in time for persons training for the Flying Pig Marathon or other upcoming local running or walking events.If you have already downloaded the St. Elizabeth app, your AndroidTM, iPhone® or iPad® should automatically prompt you to update it. Once updated, you will have access to the RunTracker.
