Greater Louisville Inc. announces exclusive opportunity for travel to Cuba

Second trip of its kind offered by GLI, to further expand region’s global reach

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (March 14, 2012) – The Metro Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce its second Cultural Awareness Tour.  This trip will explore Cuba, departing August 30, 2012 and offering travelers 9 days and 8 nights in Havana and Trinidad.
GLI is partnering with Chamber Explorations, a leading travel provider for chambers of commerce and affinity groups across North America. This partnership allows rare use of a specific license granted by the U.S. Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control to authorize registered guests to visit Cuba legally.
This all‐inclusive program boasts round trip airfare from Miami, 8 nights of first‐class hotel accommodations, 19 meals, daily touring (UNESCO sites), cultural connections with local residents, a Cuban travel visa, Cuban health insurance, a professional Cuban bilingual guide and transportation by deluxe air‐conditioned motor coach, among its amenities.
“The experience is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Due to the embargo, Cuba has been truly time-capsuled and will offer travelers rare insights into a unique culture and economic climate,” said Michael Iacovazzi-Pau, Manager of Global Engagement with Greater Louisville Inc.
Due to the exclusivity of this trip, the registration number and window is limited, with booking required by April 20, 2012.  An informational session will be held on April 10, 2012 from 5:30p.m. to 7:00p.m. at Greater Louisville Inc. The cost to participate in the DISCOVER CUBA trip is $3,499 per person (members) and $3,599 (non-members), based upon double occupancy.
