FORT MITCHELL, Ky. (Jan. 29, 2014) – The Christ Hospital Health Network has acquired the landmark Drawbridge Inn site in Fort Mitchell, where it plans to develop a 75,000-s.f. medical office building that will be part of a larger, mixed-used development.

Located just east of I-71/75 on a highly visible site, The Drawbridge Inn welcomed travelers and convention guests for 42 years before closing in 2012.

Mike Keating, president and CEO of The Christ Hospital Health Network, said the acquisition of the Drawbridge property “presents an exceptional opportunity for us to expand our presence in Northern Kentucky and provide more choice and access for consumers.”

The Christ Hospital was ranked by U.S. News and World Report last year as the No. 1 hospital in the Cincinnati metro area, with high-performing programs in cancer; cardiology and heart surgery; ear, nose and throat; gastroenterology and GI surgery; gynecology; nephrology; neurology and neurosurgery; pulmonology; and urology. The hospital has been recognized among the nation’s top 50 hospitals by U.S. News for 14 consecutive years. In addition to its 555-bed hospital in Cincinnati, The Christ Hospital operates five outpatient centers in the Greater Cincinnati area, including one in Fort Wright, Ky.

The redevelopment of the Drawbridge Inn site is being led by Brandicorp, a firm with nearly 30 years of real estate development experience in the region.

“Brandicorp shares with the City of Fort Mitchell a vision to create a vibrant community with residential, retail and medical office uses at the southern gateway into Cincinnati. Having The Christ Hospital Health Network serve as the anchor tenant for this site is a tremendous jump-start to the project,” said Brandicorp President and CEO Michael Brandy.
