Five join EKU Foundation board of directors

RICHMOND, Ky. (Feb. 19, 2014) — Eastern Kentucky University has named five new members to its Foundation Board of Directors: Maribeth McBride Berman of Louisville; Donald T. Bornhorst, CPA and senior vice president of Delta Air Lines, Minneapolis; Matthew A. Evans, president and CEO of Bankers Service Corp., Lexington; Don McNay, chairman of McNay Settlement Group and CEO of RRP International Publishing; and James Moore, an investment professional at The Glenview Trust Co.

Berman, a 1992 graduate of EKU, has worked for Neace Lukens, Chard Snyder, Western Kentucky University, and EKU, where she was assistant director of Human Resources and was active in a variety of professional activities, including serving as United Way EKU Campus Campaign Chair.

Prior to assuming his current position, Bornhorst was responsible for coordinating Delta’s merger with Northwest Airlines and integrating Delta Connection operations. He was previously president and CEO of Comair, a wholly owned subsidiary of Delta, with headquarters in Covington. A 1987 EKU graduate, Bornhorst was the 2013 EKU College of Business and Technology Distinguished Speaker. He serves on the Boards of Directors of Holy Family Catholic High School, St. Hubert’s Catholic Church and the Minneapolis Chamber of Commerce.

Evans, who earned a BBA in finance from EKU in 1991, formed his bank auditing and consulting firm in 1997. Prior to that, he was a Commissioned Bank Examiner with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. and served as Examiner-in-Charge on numerous bank examinations.

In addition to his work as an annuity consultant, McNay has been a syndicated business columnist and Huffington Post contributor. He has served on the board of directors for the Society of Settlement Planners and the National Structured Settlement Trade Association, and as a board member and treasurer for the National Society of Newspaper Columnists. In addition to an undergraduate degree from EKU, McNay earned master’s degrees from Vanderbilt University and the American College. A member of the EKU Hall of Distinguished Alumni, he also holds four professional designations and is a life member of the Million Dollar Round Table. McNay currently splits time between homes in central Kentucky and New Orleans.

Moore, who holds a BBA in accounting from EKU and an MBA from the University of Louisville, has 38 years of experience in accounting, financial planning, investment consulting and portfolio management for both institutions and individuals. Prior to joining Glenview Trust, the former CPA spent more than 15 years with PNC Bank, rising to senior vice president of PNC Advisors. His primary responsibilities included portfolio and relationship management for some of the bank’s largest family clients.
