CVG wins best regional airport award for fourth year in a row

CINCINNATI (March 26, 2014) — Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) received the World Airport Award for the Best Regional Airport in North America for the fourth consecutive year.

SkyTrax, an independent, London-based air transport research organization, surveyed more than 12.85 million airline customers from 110 different countries during the survey period in 2013 and 2014 (completed in February 2014). The survey covered 410 airports worldwide and evaluates traveler experiences across 39 different airport service and product, key performance indicators – from check-in, arrivals, transfers, shopping, security and immigration through departure at the gate. The results are based on unsolicited, customer-survey responses, with no subscription or membership required for an airport to be included.

“The World Airport Awards are another global recognition of something we see every day at CVG – hard working professionals coming to work to serve our passengers with high quality customer service and a positive traveling experience,” said William T. (Bill) Robinson III, chairman of the Kenton County Airport Board. “We at CVG are very pleased to have now received the Skytrax World Airport Award for the fourth year in a row.”

The World Airport Survey was established in 1999 and is held in high esteem for clarity of process and rigorously applied rules of total independence. CVG was acknowledged with this prestigious award on March 26, in Barcelona, Spain as part of the 2014 World Airport Awards.

“Receiving this prestigious recognition four years in a row provides us with a proven track record of excellence,” said Candace McGraw, CVG CEO. “This would not be possible without tremendous support from the entire CVG team, including our airline and business partners. We have an extremely dedicated, hard-working and committed work force at CVG which makes this award possible. Our CVG community always goes above and beyond to take good care our passengers.”

CVG is the leading airport in a three-state region. Airlines at CVG currently offer nearly 170 daily departures to 52 non-stop locations including 37 of the top 40 U.S. markets. Half of the U.S. population is within an hour’s flight of CVG.
