McAlister’s Deli makes its debut in Lexington

LEXINGTON, Ky. (March 20, 2012) —  McAlister’s Deli, a fast casual restaurant chain known for its spuds, sandwiches and Famous Sweet TeaTM, will open a location at 836 Euclid Avenue in Lexington on Monday, March 26 This location is the first of several restaurants planned for the Lexington area.

Ken Patel, owner of the new Lexington location, has previously been in the restaurant industry owning and operating Subway restaurants in Lexington.  Patel chose to stay in the Lexington market and opening in the Chevy Chase area because “While actually being in the heart of Lexington, this area has the feel and charm and warmth usually found in small town. It is a family-oriented area with a real sense of community,” said Patel.

That sense of community is a great fit for a restaurant known for its welcoming environment. In fact, Patel makes note of McAlister’s acclaimed hospitality when discussing why he chose this concept to invest in: “The culture of service at McAlister’s in each of the stores that I visited was evident and at each location the employees were happy and welcoming. The presentation and quality of food was consistent and impressive and the number of guests at each location was an indicator that the concept was popular and successful.” said Patel.

Ridgeland, Miss.-based McAlister’s Deli features a wide variety of sandwiches, spuds, soups, salads and desserts, as well as garden-fresh vegetarian selections, a children’s menu, appetizers and beverages.
