Governor makes appointments to boards and commissions

FRANKFORT, Ky. (May 27, 2014) – Governor Steve Beshear has made the following appointments to Kentucky boards and commissions:

Gov. Beshear has appointed the following members to the Early Intervention System Interagency Coordinating Council to serve for terms expiring April 20, 2017:

• Elizabeth C. Ennis, of Louisville, is an associate professor of physical therapy at Bellarmine University. She represents university programs. The appointment replaces Lee Ann Jung, whose term has expired.

• Trina L. Pryor, of Owensboro, is a speech-language pathologist and owner of Simply Therapy. She represents public/private providers. The appointment replaces Leesa S. Croley, whose term has expired.

• Kresta L. Wilson, of Lexington, is a speech-language pathologist. She represents public/private providers. The appointment replaces Linda S. Comley, whose term has expired.

Gov. Beshear has reappointed the following members to the council:

• Jennifer K. Tucker, of Louisville, is a sales proposal writer at Humana Healthcare Services. She represents parents. Tucker shall serve for a term expiring April 20, 2016.

• Linda J. Hampton, of Richmond, is manager of program support services and Head Start director at Community Action Council for Fayette, Bourbon, Harrison and Nicholas Counties. She represents parents. Hampton shall serve for a term expiring April 20, 2017.

• Holly L. LaFavers, of Somerset, is a district child evaluation specialist at Adanta. She represents public/private providers. LaFavers shall serve for a term expiring April 20, 2017.

• Justin L. Lawrence, of Fort Wright, is an attorney at Zingarelli and Lawrence LLC. He represents parents. Lawrence shall serve for a term expiring April 20, 2017.

• Tonya M. Perego, of Catlettsburg, works at Building Blocks. Perego shall serve for a term expiring April 20, 2017.

Gov. Beshear has reappointed Shane C. Furlong to the Somerset Community College Nominating Commission to serve for a term expiring April 15, 2018.

• Shane C. Furlong, of Burnside, is owner of M3 Express Mart.

Gov. Beshear has appointed Jimmy A. Cantrell to the Recreational Trails Authority to serve for a term expiring Aug. 22, 2017.

• Jimmy A. Cantrell, of West Liberty, is retired. He represents the Kentucky League of Sportsmen. The appointment replaces Jeffrey D. Spainhour, whose term has expired.

Gov. Beshear has appointed Anthony B. Gray to the Governor’s Minority Employment, Business Affairs and Economic Development Council to serve for a term expiring April 1, 2018.

• Anthony B. Gray, of Lexington, is an attorney at QPWB law firm. The appointment replaces Charles E. Thomas, whose term has expired.

Gov. Beshear has reappointed the following members to the council to serve for terms expiring April 1, 2018:

• Tawana E. Bain, of Louisville, is CEO at New Age Communications.

• Donna M. Ridings, of Georgetown, is a buyer and MBE coordinator at Toyota.

• Terry R. Atwell, of Crestwood, is a buyer at Louisville Water Co.

Gov. Beshear has appointed Brent E. Childers to the State Advisory Committee for the Land and Water Conservation Fund to serve for a term expiring March 8, 2016.

• Brent E. Childers, of Bowling Green, is director of Neighborhood and Community Services for the city of Bowling Green. The appointment replaces Ernie C. Gouvas, whose term has expired.

Gov. Beshear has reappointed the following members to the Egg Marketing Board to serve for terms expiring May 7, 2017.

• Anthony Pescatore, of Lexington, is an extension professor at the University of Kentucky.

• Linda C. Francis, of Lewisburg, is a retired sales coordinator from Cal-Maine Foods.

• James B. Powell, of Winchester, is owner of J.M.J. Eggs Inc.

Gov. Beshear has appointed Joe Bowen to the Kentucky Bicycle and Bikeway Commission to serve for the remainder of the unexpired term ending Oct. 20, 2016.

• Joe Bowen, of Stanton, is owner and operator at Bowen Farm Bed and Breakfast. The appointment replaces Brian C. House, who has resigned.

Gov. Beshear has appointed the following members to the Kentucky Emergency Response Commission, for terms expiring April 17, 2016:

• James Anthony Richey, of Glasgow, is emergency management director for Barren County Fiscal Court. He represents local government. The appointment replaces Edallen Burtner, whose term has expired.

• Gregg M. Bayer, of Georgetown, is a battalion chief, special operations, at Lexington Fire Department. He represents firefighters. The appointment replaces Larry J. Baer II, whose term has expired.

• Joseph Michael Bosse, of Louisville, is a safety and health environmental specialist at E.I. Dupont. He represents business and industry. The appointment replaces Carl M. Hamblin, whose term has expired.

Gov. Beshear has reappointed the following members to the commission, to serve for terms expiring April 17, 2016:

• Chad R. Aull, of Lexington, is assistant to the lieutenant governor. He represents the lieutenant governor’s office.

• Keith A. Peercy, of Richmond, is a lieutenant colonel for Kentucky State Police. He represents vehicle enforcement.

• Shawn Marie Herron, of Louisville, is an attorney at the Department of Criminal Justice Training. She represents local government.

• Kathy L. Fowler, of Taylorsville, is assistant director of public health and public service for the Cabinet for Health and Family Services. She represents health services.

• Pendleton County Judge-Executive Henry W. Bertram, of Falmouth. He represents local government.

• Richard K. Payne, of Owensboro, is emergency director for Daviess County Fiscal Court. He represents local government.

• Ronnie Lee Day, of Morehead, is executive director of the Kentucky Fire Commission. He represents the Kentucky Commission on Fire Protection Personnel Standards and Education.

• Norman Jerome Mansfield, of Paducah, is director of the McCracken County Office of Emergency Management. He represents business and industry.

• William W. Swope, of Lexington, is the state fire marshal and represents that office.

• Douglas K. Tackett, of Pikeville, is a 911 coordinator and emergency director for the Pike County E-911 Board, Pike County Fiscal Court. He represents the Kentucky Emergency Management Association.

• Ryan M. Halloran, of Frankfort, is an attorney at the Office of the Attorney General and represents that office.

• Jeffrey Scott Bibb, of Frankfort, is director, Division of Incident Management for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. He represents persons with technical experience in the emergency response field.

• Thomas K. Alexander, of Louisville, is an emergency planning and preparedness manager at LG&E KU Energy LLC He represents business and industry.

• Robert Simpson Walker IV, of Lexington, is an assistant professor at the University of Kentucky Center on Drug and Alcohol Research. He represents persons with technical expertise in the emergency response field.

Gov. Beshear has appointed Steven E. Burchett to the KATS Network Advisory Council to serve for a term expiring March 31, 2017.

• Steven E. Burchett, of Scottsville, is an information technology specialist at Disability Resource Initiative. He represents individuals with disabilities who use assistive technology. The appointment replaces Edward A. Schickel, whose term has expired.

Gov. Beshear has reappointed the following members to the council to serve for terms expiring March 31, 2017:

• Kathryn W. McGee, of Edgewood, is a tax examiner technician for the Internal Revenue Service. She represents individuals with disabilities who use assistive technology.

• Vivian E. Lasley, of Pineville, is a special needs educator for the Bell County School District. She represents individuals with disabilities who use assistive technology.

• Rick L. Boggess, of Owensboro, is a retired teacher of visually impaired students. He represents individuals with disabilities who use assistive technology.

Gov. Beshear has appointed the following members to the Statewide Independent Living Council to serve for terms expiring May 20, 2017:

• Jeffrey L. Merrill, of Nortonville, is a customer service associate at Lowe’s Home Improvement. He represents organizations providing services for individuals with disabilities. The appointment replaces Lonnie Cowan, whose term has expired.

• Corey Rochelle Kennedy, of Frankfort, is an internal policy analyst II for the Department for Aging and Independent Living. Kennedy represents advocates of and for individuals with disabilities. The appointment replaces Ann L. Smits, whose term has expired.

• Bobby P. Begley, of Hazard, is a volunteer of recreation activities at Eastern Kentucky Veterans Center. He represents organizations providing services for individuals with disabilities. The appointment replaces Shannon J. Caldwell, whose term has expired.

Gov. Beshear has reappointed the following members to the council to serve for terms expiring May 20, 2017:

• John M. Freholm, of Russell, is an individual consultant at Sound Advice Advocates Inc. He represents advocates of and for individuals with disabilities.

• Elsie J. Speed, of Lexington, is a retired teacher. She represents advocates of and for individuals with disabilities.

Gov. Beshear has appointed the following members to the Judicial Nominating Commission for the 53^rd Judicial Circuit and District:

• Linda L. Griffith, of Shelbyville, is retired. Griffith shall serve for a term expiring Jan. 1, 2016.

• Ronald C. Hebner, of Taylorsville, is retired. Hebner shall serve for a term expiring Jan. 1, 2016.

• Theresa C. Wolcott, of Lawrenceburg, is a program administrator for the Kentucky Department of Corrections. Wolcott shall serve for a term expiring Jan. 1, 2018.

• Frank Patrick Hargadon, of Waddy, is a farmer and agent at Farm Bureau Insurance. Hargadon shall serve for a term expiring Jan. 1, 2018.

Gov. Beshear has appointed Udell B. Levy as an administrative law judge in the Department of Workers Claims, to serve for the remainder of the unexpired term ending Dec. 31, 2015.

• Udell B. Levy, of Louisville, is an attorney. The appointment replaces Edward D. Hays, who has resigned.
