LEXINGTON, Ky (June 5, 2015) — American Airlines inaugurates new non-stop regional service from Blue Grass Airport to Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) today. Central Kentucky will now have non-stop access to Philadelphia’s historic attractions and world-class cultural venues as well as the ability to connect to more than 300 destinations worldwide.
“We thank American Airlines for providing our community with a new hub-destination that provides our customers one-stop connecting service to numerous domestic and international destinations,” said Eric Frankl, executive director of Blue Grass Airport. “We have been working to obtain non-stop service to Philadelphia for several years, and we hope our community will support it and benefit from the added convenience.”
Following the launch of the new service, American Airlines and US Airways will provide non-stop jet service between Blue Grass Airport and three major hub airports including Philadelphia (PHL), Charlotte (CLT) and Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW).
Service for the new flights between Lexington and Philadelphia will be provided by US Airways Express on a Bombardier CRJ-200 three times per day. Customers may book the new flights at aa.com and usairways.com as well as other distribution channels. The flight schedule will operate as follows:
