DuPont Louisville site honored for safety

Employees have worked more than 1.1 million hours without a lost-time incident

DupontLOUISVILLE, Ky. (July 1, 2014) — Employees at the DuPont Louisville facility were honored with the Governor’s Safety and Health Award for having worked 1,158,625 hours without a lost-time incident or illness.

Louisville’s facility, which has 180 employees, is the largest owned by DuPont to manufacture Freon brand products, which is a refrigerant for freezers and air conditioners, and is used as a fire-extinguishing agent. The plant also makes vinyl fluoride and hydrochloric acid. The facility has approximately 180 employees.

The required number of hours is dependent to earn the award is dependent upon the number of employees. In the case of DuPont, the requirement is 500,000 hours.
