Rivulet Pecan Liqueur opens headquarters in Kentucky

Aided by the Distilled Spirits Epicenter in Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (July 9, 2014) — Adding to the city’s growing international reputation as the premier place to start and grow beverage companies, Mayor Greg Fischer today welcomed the city’s newest spirits business, Rivulet Pecan Liqueur.

The liqueur, the vision of entrepreneur James B. Marshall who was born and raised in Louisville and returned last year after retiring as a global executive for 3M, hits store shelves this month. Rivulet went from conception to shelf in about a year, thanks in part to the Distilled Spirits Epicenter in downtown Louisville that has helped launch several brands.

rivulet“From our exploding bourbon industry to specialized small-batch artisan products such as Rivulet, Louisville is well on its way to becoming a global epicenter for food and beverages,” Fischer said. “One of the key recommendations from the recently-released Bourbon and Food Work Group Report was to use bourbon — and spirits in general — as an economic development tool for the city. This is evidence that movement is already happening.”

Rivulet is the brainchild of Marshall, who had the vision of creating a unique luxury liqueur after traveling the world for many years. After realizing that 95 percent of the world’s pecans are grown in the United States, he began a quest for perfecting just the right formulation for a luxury spirit that could be appreciated around the world. With the help of Dave Dafoe, founder of the Distilled Spirits Epicenter, and Scott Reid, a local industry brand development and marketing expert, Marshall began fast-tracking the overall brand development and commercialization process.

Rivulet is the world’s most unique luxury liqueur, Marshall said, carefully crafted for connoisseurs who appreciate the combination of contemporary American luxury with the time-honored traditions of fine artisan distilling and craftsmanship.
