GEAR UP Kentucky announces 29 schools selected for $26.9 million college-readiness grant

FRANKFORT, Ky. (March 23, 2012) —  GEAR UP Kentucky will announce the 29 schools selected to participate in a new $26.9 million college-readiness grant award on Friday, March 23.
The announcement took place at a launch rally beginning at 9:45 a.m. at Holmes High School, 2500 Madison Avenue, Covington. School administrators are aware of the award and can be contacted for local stories.The embargoed list of schools selected for the GEAR-UP Kentucky program appear below.

GEAR UP, Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs, anticipates serving 10,000 Kentucky students from low-income schools over the life of the six-year federal grant. The program serves entire cohorts of students and follows them throughout high school.
