Xerox adding 1,200 jobs in Lexington

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Sept. 15, 2014) — Xerox is adding 1,200 new permanent and temporary positions in the Lexington area by the end of the year to support its expanding client base.

UnknownXerox is currently the sixth largest employer in Lexington and may grow to be the second largest private employer after the current recruitment is completed.

“Xerox has continued to grow and add jobs since they first came to Kentucky 15 years ago,” said Gov. Steve Beshear. “ Xerox’s new hiring is good news for the company and good news for Kentuckians.”

Positions will be for customer call center work serving several clients in a variety of industries. About 400 positions will be regular full-time employment while the remaining 800 are designated full-time seasonal employment to support annual open enrollment.

Additionally, Xerox is looking to fill 50 entry-level positions such as data entry operators, mail sorters and scanner operators to support several of its healthcare and insurance clients.

“Xerox’s growth is an illustration of what can happen when businesses have confidence in our city and its future. We’re going to continue running government with sound business practices so employers like Xerox have the confidence in Lexington to continue to create jobs,” Lexington Mayor Jim Gray said. “This is exciting news, more than 1,200 local families in Lexington will have new job opportunities.”

Hiring is starting immediately at three Xerox facilities in Lexington: 101 Yorkshire Blvd., 745 West New Circle Road, Bldg 200 and 2432 Fortune Drive.
