FRANKFORT (Sept. 22, 2014) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has launched an online and social media campaign dedicated to sharing the latest information about the Mountain Parkway Expansion with citizens of the Commonwealth.
The Mountain Parkway Expansion is a 46-mile transportation improvement project that will create a safer and wider transportation corridor to better connect Eastern Kentucky with the rest of the state. Completion of this major highway transportation project was identified earlier this year as a key priority of Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear, the Kentucky General Assembly and the Transportation Cabinet.
Through regular electronic communications, the cabinet and its project team will work to keep residents, property owners, business and community leaders and the news media well-informed about traffic impacts and construction progress.
The website, www.MtnParkway.com, serves as an information portal for the project with the latest information posted in the News and Events section.
Social media sites will be used to share frequent updates about traffic impacts, public meetings and project plans and interact with those following the project.
The public can sign up for e-mail newsletters that will be distributed periodically to provide updates on the project. To receive the newsletters, citizens should visit www.MtnParkway.com and click on “Sign up for e-mail updates” under the Contact Us tab.
