LEXINGTON, Ky. (Sept. 23, 2014) — UK Dining will host the grand opening celebration of Rising Roll Gourmet Cafe on the University of Kentucky campus from 1:30-2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23. The new restaurant is located in the Ralph G. Anderson Engineering Building.
Grand opening activities will include free food and beverage samples, a ribbon cutting ceremony and giveaways.
Rising Roll Gourmet Café offers unique gourmet sandwiches, salads, soups and breakfast dishes made from the freshest ingredients. The restaurant focuses on service with a smile, giving customers the “best bang for the buck,” according to popular restaurant rating service, ZAGAT. ZAGAT has also rated Rising Roll Gourmet Café as “excellent” every year since 1999.
“We are excited to bring the first Rising Roll Gourmet Café to the Commonwealth of Kentucky,” said Dan Palombo, vice president of operations for UK Dining. “The new facility is a great addition to the UK Dining program and provides a variety of high quality meal options for students, faculty and staff.”
Rising Roll Gourmet Café began operating in Atlanta as Uptown Gourmet Sandwich Company in 1996 and achieved quick success. Rising Roll Gourmet Café has since grown consistently, with locations in five states, plus new concept extensions, Rising Roll Express and Grab & Go. Rising Roll Gourmet Café has been recognized by industry and consumer media for its high quality, excellent food.
Rising Roll Gourmet Café is open Monday-Friday from 7:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Flex Dollars, Plus Account, cash, Visa and MasterCard are accepted.
