LEXINGTON – (Sept. 24, 2014) The deadline to register to vote in the Nov. 4 general election is Oct. 6.
Across the commonwealth, schools and civic organizations commemorated National Voter Registration Day Sept. 23 by conducting voter registration drives to maximize participation in the upcoming election.
County clerks’ offices will accept voter registration cards until close of business on Oct. 6, and mail-in voter registration applications must be postmarked by that date.
Voters who have recently moved must update their registration information by Oct. 6. Pursuant to KRS 116.025(6), individuals who move from one county to another county while the voter registration books are open and fail to update their registration information before the registration books close will not be permitted to vote in the election.
You can check your registration status and obtain a registration card through the State Board of Elections website, www.elect.ky.gov, or by contacting your county clerk.
