Logo for Governor's Conference on Energy and the Environment“Professionals in the areas of brownfield development, urban forestry, and agriculture will share their success stories; and I’m excited to hear from local leaders who are steering environmental protection and energy conservation initiatives in innovative ways,” said Len Peters, secretary of the state Energy and Environment Cabinet.

“Another important discussion — one that will interest everyone who pays electric bills — is a session on proposed federal greenhouse gas regulations. A panel of experts will lead the discussion in a ‘Q and A’ format,” Peters said.

Free tours of the University of Kentucky Center for Applied Energy Research and Kentucky American Water also will be available.

Cost of the conference is $200 for both days, $125 for one day and $100 for just Oct. 8. The deadline to register online is Oct. 2.
