Low vendor participation cited as reason
HARRODSBURG, Ky. (Sept. 25, 2014) — The 6th Annual Fall Arts Festival scheduled from Oct. 11-12 in Harrodsburg has been cancelled because of low vendor participation, the Arts Council of Mercer County said.
“This was not a decision that the board of directors and I came to lightly. We are incredibly disheartened by the cancellation, however each of us believe it is the best way to ensure future success for the festival,” says Carrie Truitt, the Arts Council’s executive director.
Organizers said they hope the event can continue next year.
“I really believe that this festival can rebound and be a great event for Harrodsburg and Mercer County next year,” said Brenda Cashel, Arts Council board chair. “We hope that the members of this community will rally around us at the Arts Council and help this event thrive in the future.”
