Expected to add 32 positions over four years
Jeffersonville, Ind. (Sept. 30, 2014) — Shoe Sensation, a Midwest shoe retailer headquartered in Jeffersonville, Ind., is expanding its headquarters by 40,000-s.f.
Shoe Sensation will invest $800,000 at its headquarters location in both real and personal property, as well as hire an additional 32 positions over the next four years. Shoe Sensation currently employs more than 850 employees company-wide.
Expansion is possible because of store growth and new store openings, with the company having grown by 25 percent and added 23 new locations, with plans to open an additional 50 stores by the end of 2016.
One Southern Indiana, the Indiana Economic Development Corporation offered Shoe Sensation up to $350,000 in conditional tax credits based on the company’s job creation plans. These tax credits are performance-based, meaning until Hoosiers are hired, the company is not eligible to claim incentives. Shoe Sensation’s location also affords them the opportunity to apply for benefits through the Jeffersonville Urban Enterprise Zone.
