New Southwest Regional Library opens in Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Oct. 7, 2014) — On Sunday Louisville opened the new 40,000 square foot Southwest Regional Library, located at 9725 Dixie Highway; at Kendall Road near Valley High School.

At more than twice the size of the current branch, the new resource library will enhance service for nearly 100,000 people in southwestern Jefferson County.

The new library includes 120,000 books, including a large children’s library and teen library, more computers, touch-screen computers, self check-out, community meeting rooms that can hold up to 150 people and study rooms.

The library is one of three regional libraries included in the Louisville Free Public Library’s Updated Master Plan.
