Record number of Kentucky voters are registered for General Election

More than 3.1 million Kentuckians registered to vote

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Oct. 22, 2014) — A record number of Kentuckians have registered to vote for this year’s Nov. 4 General Election.

vote_bannerA total of 3,147,157 Kentuckians are registered to vote, bearing the previous record of 3,105,349 from the Primary Election in May, an increase of 1.4 percent, Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes announced today.

Registered Democrats make up 53.46 percent of Kentucky voters, while 38.73 percent are Republicans and 7.8 percent listed as “Other.” Overall, 53 percent of registered voters are women and 47 percent men.

Voters may access the Voter Information Center (VIC) on the State Board of Elections’ website to confirm their voter registration status, view sample ballots, and locate their polling place.
