KentuckyShow! finds new home at Science Center

Will begin playing on four-story screen on Nov. 21

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Nov. 10, 2014) — KentuckyShow! is moving to its new home at the Kentucky Science Center, where it will be played on a four-story screen.

“If people loved KentuckyShow! in its original format, wait until they see it like this,” said executive producer Sharon Potter. “The impact of seeing KentuckyShow! on four-story screen and the state-of-the-art HD quality of the imagery and sound is almost indescribable.”

KentuckyShow!, a 30-minute production, is designed to take audiences on a journey through time and place in Kentucky. More than 70 hours of HD video were captured for the production, with the film crew traveling to over 187 locations and interviewing over 100 people throughout the state to obtain a true representation of Kentucky: its people, history, culture, music and spirit.

The Kentucky Science Center’s 4-Story Digital Theater underwent a complete renovation in January, reopening in February with all new digital capabilities and a Precision White Digital Screen — the first of its kind in Kentucky.

The original KentuckyShow! opened in 1984 and ran for six years in Downtown Louisville before moving to Bardstown, where it continued to run several more years.

An updated KentuckyShow! experience premiered in 2008 at The Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts, where it has played until the most recent move.
