Northern Kentucky Tri-ED names Kevin Donnelly manager of business retention and expansion

NKY Boost helps foster growth and job creation in local economy

COVINGTON, Ky. (Dec. 10, 2014) — Northern Kentucky Tri-County Economic Development Corp. (Tri-ED) announced that Kevin Donnelly has joined Northern Kentucky Tri-ED as manager of business retention and expansion.

“Kevin brings a strategic knowledge of Northern Kentucky’s strong business climate through his work at the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce and Vision 2015,” said Dan Tobergte, president and CEO of Northern Kentucky Tri-ED. “His experience working with business leaders to benefit the region is valuable as he works with our existing industry base to help our largest employers grow their presence in Northern Kentucky and be successful in our community.”

Northern Kentucky Tri-ED’s business retention and expansion program, NKY Boost, is focused on connecting the region’s primary industries with solutions to foster growth and job creation in the local economy. Donnelly will join Wade Williams, vice president-business retention and expansion/manufacturing projects, in managing the NKY Boost program.

In 2013, the NKY Boost program assisted with 13 expansion projects in Northern Kentucky, projected to create 321 new jobs and $68.1M in capital investment. NKY Boost has helped 35 companies receive assistance with workforce training grants, resulting in nearly $1M in grant funding. The program was recognized with an “Excellence in Economic Development Award” from the International Economic Development Council in 2013.

Donnelly managed policy development for the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce in addition to assisting with communications and marketing efforts. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and International Studies from Northern Kentucky University (NKU) and graduated summa cum laude. During his time at NKU, Donnelly played intercollegiate soccer for the Norse, where he served as team captain. Donnelly is currently pursing a Master of Business Administration at NKU.
