Beshear makes appointments to boards and commissions

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Dec. 12, 2014) – Gov. Steve Beshear has made the following appointments to Kentucky boards and commissions:

Board-RoomThe following were reappointed as members of the Martin Luther King Jr. State Commission, to serve for terms expiring Dec. 12, 2018:

  • Melvin L. Turner, of Louisville, is a health consultant with Team Enterprise.
  • Nora R. Moosnick, of Lexington, is an instructor at the University of Kentucky.
  • Wanda E. Washington, of Campbellsville, is coordinator for Greater Campbellsville United Inc.

The following were reappointed as members of the Commission for Children with Special Health Care Needs, to serve for terms expiring Dec. 20, 2018. The order is effective Dec. 21, 2014.

  • Jacqueline A. Noonan, of Lexington, is a physician with the University of Kentucky College of Medicine and is designated as chair of the commission.
  • Adonna L. Wickliffe, of Louisville, is a health care manager at University of Louisville Hospital.

The following were reappointed as members of the Parole Board:

  • George A. Carson, of Louisville, to serve for a term expiring July 15, 2018.
  • Neeka L. Parks-Coates, of Louisville, to serve for a term expiring July 15, 2018.
  • J. Shannon Jones, of Lexington, to serve for a term expiring June 30, 2018. Jones is designated as chair.
  • Amanda L. Spears, of Somerset, to serve for a term expiring June 30, 2018.

The following were reappointed as members of the board of directors of the Quality and Charity Care Trust Inc., to serve for terms expiring Dec. 12, 2015, or until respective successors are selected and qualified:

  • Cabinet for Health and Family Services Secretary Audrey Tayse Haynes.
  • Shannon Tivitt, deputy chief of staff to Gov. Beshear.
  • Dr. Stephanie Mayfield, commissioner, Department for Public Health.
