Scott Jones named Kentucky commissioner of charitable gaming

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Feb. 17, 2015) – Scott T. Jones has been named commissioner of the Department of Charitable Gaming (DCG). Jones, of Louisville, succeeds Bob Sparrow who retired Dec. 31, 2014.

Tem Larry Clark where he led the management team for 12 years. He previously served as general counsel to the DCG as well as staff attorney for the former Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Cabinet.

Public Protection Cabinet Secretary Ambrose Wilson IV named Jones to the post today.

“Scott’s previous experience in the Department of Charitable Gaming will be a real asset to that department and the hundreds of charities that it serves,” said Sec. Wilson. “His knowledge and leadership abilities will serve the Commonwealth and our constituents well.”

Jones is a graduate of the University of Louisville with a bachelor’s degree in communications and a minor in political science. He obtained a juris doctor from the University of Louisville and is a member of the Kentucky Bar Association.
