FRANKFORT, Ky. (April 9, 2015) — Gov. Steve Beshear today unveiled the 2015 Governor’s Commemorative Derby poster, a print by New Zealand artist Peter Williams.
The image, titled “The Cat That Licked the Cream,” is a reproduction of William’s original oil on canvas and depicts a colorful pre-race scene in the Churchill Downs paddock.
Williams is known for his nearly 30 years of painting in the paddocks of Churchill Downs, Keeneland, Saratoga and other world-renowned racetracks.
