Kentucky State Parks open for spring, summer travel season

Customer Appreciation Weekend held April 24-26

FRANKFORT, Ky. (April 15, 2015) – Kentucky State Parks are open and ready for another spring and summer season of guests enjoying outdoor activities all across the state.

Dale Hollow state park“Our 49 parks have something for everyone – recreation, history, wildlife viewing, fishing, boating and more,” Parks Commissioner Elaine Walker said. “We invite Kentuckians and our out-of-state guests to visit one or more of our parks this year.”

All 17 resort parks with lodging and restaurants are open seven days a week. All recreation parks and historic sites are also open. Visitors should check the parks website, www.parks.ky.gov, for hours and special events.

The park system’s 31 campgrounds and 16 golf courses are also open.

Upcoming special events include Camper Appreciation Weekend April 24-26, when campers can get two nights for the price of one. The Mother’s Day buffet will be May 10 at the resort park restaurants.
