LEXINGTON, Ky. (April 21, 2015) — Baptist Health Lexington will offer its annual free stroke screening from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on May 28 at Fayette Mall. No appointment is necessary.
The stroke screening involves a check of risk factors for stroke and will include assessment of blood pressure, pulse, blood glucose and total cholesterol. Staff also will check for signs of narrowing in the carotid artery.
If needed, an EKG will be performed. If an abnormality is found on the EKG, the individual will be offered an evaluation with the Center for Atrial Fibrillation and Heart Rhythm Disorders at Baptist Health Lexington.
