More than 12,000 archers expected at National Archery Tournament

Scheduled for May 7-9 in Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (April 29, 2015) — More than 12,000 archers from 42 states and 763 schools are expected compete at the National Archery in the Schools National Tournament at the Kentucky Exposition Center May 7–9.

NASPLogoThe 2012 events was certified by Guinness World Records as the largest archery tournament in the world, with 7,804 archers. The 2013 event broke that record, and this year’s event is expected to again break the record.

In addition, a scholarship shoot-off and awards ceremony will follow Saturday’s competition. The National Archery in the Schools Program will award scholarship money totaling $129,500.

This year’s tournament will also introduce the first-ever National Archery Day on May 9.
