Saint Joseph employee receives national recognition

One of 12 honored as a Hero of Infection Prevention

LEXINGTON, Ky. (May 4, 2015) — Dana M. Stephens, MT, CIC, executive director clinical and regulatory integration for KentuckyOne Health, has been selected as a nationally recognized “Hero of Infection Prevention,” by the Association for Professionals in Infections Control and Epidemiology (APIC).

Each year, APIC presents the award to 12 members of the association, both inside and outside of the U.S. The award recognizes individuals who have contributed to the development and application of innovative infection prevention programs.

Stephens helped to develop three major quality improvement initiatives related to infectious disease and infection control, helping to improve the continuum of care at Saint Joseph Hospital.

She will be recognized with the award at the APIC Annual Conference In Nashville, set for June 27-29.
